CPLP TECHNOLOGIST WORKSHOP INFORMATION
AND AGENDA
CPLP Technologist Workshop will be held on
Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Grand Holiday Hotel in
Shenzhen, China. Mr. Han Xueshan, Vice-dean of CPRTC, the
only CPLP Professional in China, will teach the Technologist
class.
All individuals participating in the workshop
and passing the exam will receive a CPLP Technologist Certificate
and Lapel Pin. CPLP Achievements will be published on the
ISTA website and included in the ista views and iNews and
on the TCCPF website and iNEWS.
About Certified Packaging
Laboratory Professional (CPLP):
This unique program encourages and recognizes development
and excellence in packaging laboratory professionals.
There are currently three levels of certification (Technician,
Technologist, and Professional). Please visit the ISTA website
at http://ista.org/pages/certification/professionals.php
for more information on the CPLP Program. You must continue
your membership with ISTA and re-certify every three years
to hold CPLP Certification.

Technologist encompasses
advanced procedures & protocols including those from
other organizations, random vibration, dynamic material
testing, instrumentation, and enhanced simulation (ISTA
4AB).
TECHNOLOGIST MODULE
DESCRIPTIONS
Test Procedures and Protocols 2: More detail
on the different organizations and types of testing available,
including Hazardous Materials testing, LTL Items 180 and
181, ASTM D4169, and ISO 4180.
Package Vibration Testing 2: More detail
on vibration and vibration testing, focusing on random vibration
dynamics, random vibration in the field and in the lab,
the measurement of hazards, and measurement instruments.
Dynamic Materials Testing: Development
of data on the performance of packaging materials, especially
in shock and vibration. Emphasis on cushioning properties.
Package Laboratory Instrumentation: Covers
the concept of measurement systems including sensors, transducers,
signal conditioning, readout devices and more.
Enhanced Simulation Performance Tests: Covers
the background and development of ISTA 4AB, today's most
advanced self-contained packaged-product performance test
protocol. Discusses the detailed distribution system knowledge
required for best implementation.
Workshop
Prerequisite:
CPLP Technician-level certification. (required)
Attendees must be ISTA-members or employed
by an ISTA-member company. (required)
Minimum of 1 year employment in the industry (or a
packaging or related engineering degree).
Know test operations and test projects of other organizations.
Understand vibration tests, material dynamic performance
tests, Project 4AB and testing equipment. |
